We provide two tools which enable you to protect your web pages, which one should you use?

Both the Password Protector tool and the Registration System tool enable you to password protect your web pages. Below we outline the main difference between the two tools so that you can choose the right one for your needs:

Password Protector Tool
This is for protecting individual web pages so that visitors have to enter a username and password before being allowed to view the page. Each visitor will enter the same username and password in order to view a protected page. It is you who determines what the username/password is and it is you who decides who should know the username and password. It is a very simple tool to use.

Registration System Tool:
This enables you to have a full blown registration/log on system on your website . It enables you to invite visitors to register on your web site and create their own username and password. You can also protect web pages so that only registered members can view them i.e. a visitor goes to view a web page that you have protected and if they are not logged on they are asked to logon on or register first. The Registration System tool also offers lots of added functionality typical of a website registration system such as members directory, personal profiles etc etc
